Design Serenity was founded on the principle that everyone deserves the opportunity to have a professional designer assist with their designing needs. We believe that Interior Decorating services are not just for the rich and famous, but for everyday people like you and me. With this in mind, in the beginning, we focused our outreach efforts on offering our services to clients with a limited design budget. Although we have many clients with substantial design budgets, we continue to ensure that we are offering affordable interior design services to everyone. This approach has been very rewarding as we continue to offer our services to everyone – which allows the unique opportunity to hire an Interior Decorator to help create beautiful spaces.

On a part-time basis, Serena has helped hundreds of families discover their design dreams by offering creative solutions to design dilemmas. As noted, most of her business is realized through referrals from clients, which has helped elevate the company from a part-time status to an established company. Today, Design Serenity has helped hundreds of clients realize their design dreams! Over the years, we have expanded our specialty services to include event planning and wedding design services.

Serena Meet the Designer
Serena has always had a passion for “design” ever since she was a little girl. It all started when she was around eleven years old and decided to redesign her bedroom. She began by taking old coke bottles that she saved over the past few months to create her first design. She used ten coke bottles, filled each one with colored water (using food dye), and lined them up on her dresser. After taking pieces of furniture and accessories from each room in her parents’ house, she soon created a design masterpiece for her bedroom! This was just the beginning because shortly thereafter, Serena had redesigned each room in her parents' home – without a budget!

Instead of pursing an Interior Design career, Serena decided to attend college in pursuit of a business degree. After obtaining two Master’s Degrees (MPA and MSA) and holding various Senior Level positions in both the Executive and Legislative Branches of Government, she soon discovered that her true love and passion remained in designing spaces. With a special love for working with people, she decided to establish an Interior Decorating company that would offer specialized and affordable design services - Design Serenity. Although the company started on a part-time basis, the many referrals and new customers has helped transform the company into a full-service interior decorating company.

We create designs for you – not us. We listen to you, understand you, and get to know you before we begin creating design ideas for your space. One of our first steps is to sit down with you and engage in a friendly conversation about you, your decorating fears and favorite colors, and the design area of interest to you. During this conversation, we are able to gauge a real sense of your personality. This gives us a better understanding of your style and taste, which allows the design ideas to showcase you! When we complete your design project, we aim to walk away knowing that your personal space has been illuminated with your personality.
